Increasing Online Revenues with Laser Targeted Traffic
Search engine traffic is important to your website. But knowing how to get the right king of traffic will have a direct impact in the revenue your website makes.
It starts with the keyword research. We have all heard this before, but it is still amazing how many people just do not do this properly. Long tail keywords still dominate the search engine results. Since this still works, it is imperative you know how to do this. Good thing for you, it is easier than you may think.
If you go to Google, you can do a search for the main theme of your website or product. Then, on the left side, you will see a term "Related Searches". Click this button and there lies a listing of long tail keywords people are currently searching for. You can write articles based on these terms. Typically, you will want a keyword phrase that is 3 – 5 words long.
Another way to use these related search terms is with website building and linking. You can also use these additional terms to build sub pages of your website. There is a term called site siloing. Just think about how a silo on a farm directs all of the grain from a wide section where it enters into a small section where it exits. Your traffic and web pages can be thought of like that.
You would set up your site with a common theme, and then narrow it down with sub pages. This allows you to keep all of your niche related pages within a sub category of the site. When you do this, you will have a bunch of niche related topics all inter-linked. This will eventually end up with a scenario that is favorable to pagerank. This is because of the targeted traffic you will be getting for your targeted content.
There are a few ways to build this hierarchy to a website. But, the one easiest way I have found to setup a site like this: Use Wordpress. They make it so simple to add a new sub-category and maintain all of the links in the site. Plus, use the Google sitemap and Platinum SEO plugin, and you have an optimized website ready for targeted traffic.
Targeted traffic is much more likely to convert on your website. When doing research for topics, try to keep it directly targeted to the content and theme of your website. This can be done with some long tail keywords and linking these topics as sub categories on your website. Setting up your link structure this way, will help you to achieve pagerank and eventually become a top authority website.
